Vision

Our vision is to see our students grow to become men of strong, godly character
who are actively involved in serving the Lord in some capacity.

Purpose

The purposes of our class include, but are not limited to:

    - The Salvation of our class members
    - The discipleship of those in our class
    - To reinforce what our Pastor preacher
    - To combat the world's philosophy of living
    - To interpret life through the filter of God's Word
    - The effective modeling of successful Christian living
    - To mentor our students as they grow in their Christian life
    - To support mothers and fathers in raising Christian young men
    - To provide coaching and counseling to navigate the challenges of life
    - To establish strong Biblical principles that will be the cornerstone for life's foundation

Description

One of our primary goals is to teach God's Word to our students and allow them to have fun at the same time. Too many boys either never start going to church or, if they do start, stop going because they find Sunday School to be boring. While we will never lose sight of our prime directive (the salvation and discipleship of our students), we play games, give away prizes, and do what we can to allow those who attend the Junior Boys Class to realize that going to church and serving the Lord are not dull endeavors (Psalm 68:3).

In addition to having a time of teaching, some of our class activities include:
    - The weekly memorization of Bible verses
    - Reviewing our "Man-in-Demand" series of desired behavioral principles, which we use to develop
      courteous, polite, Christian gentlemen
    - Using our "Gratitude Attitude" series, which is designed to instill an attitude of thankfulness to the Lord
and others through the acknowledgement of what we have been given and what others have done for us
    - Teaching our "JBC Vocabulary" list to review words in the Bible that may be new to our students; our
purpose is to enhance their understanding of God's Word as they read it
    - Using our "WWJD?" series of situations where we identify a decision that has to be made and we ask,
"What Would Jesus Do?" By discovering what our Lord would do, we can identify, prescribe, and encourage
       Christ-like behavior
    - Discussing newspaper stories of criminal activity in our "Christians/Character/Crime" series; through this,
we teach critical thinking to our students so that they can see what mistakes others make in their lives and
how living a life that is pleasing to the Lord is preferable
    - Talking about our "Valuable Virtues" series, where we use the Bible to identify and discuss certain virtues
that, when employed, will please and honor the Lord
    - Reviewing the Ten Commandments; our goal is for each student to memorize all ten
    - Passing out tracts; through this activity, we strive to fulfill the Great Commission
    - Recognizing and giving prizes to students who memorize Bible verses, those who bring their Bible to
Sunday School, and those who wear a tie to church
