ABOUT
JEFFRI’S TESTIMONY
I was born and raised in the Dominican
Republic until I was ten years old when I came to
the United States of America. As a child, I was
introduced to numerous different charismatic
churches and made a promise that I would never
go to church again because I saw people speak
in tongues and many other things. When I was
thirteen years old, I was pursuing a dream of
making it to the MLB, and therefore began to
look for baseball teams to play for. I was
introduced to the High School baseball team in
October of 2005 that Woodlawn Baptist Church
had and on my first practice, I heard a clear
presentation of the gospel and accepted Christ
as my Savior. After that, I began to come to
church faithfully and sat under the preaching of
Dr. Ron Fenwick and his preaching transformed
my life.
As I began to grow as a Christian, I began
to go to youth conferences. On my first
conference in 2006 in Tennessee, I heard man of
God preach, such as Kenny Baldwin, and many
others; and at that conference, I made a public
profession that God had called me to preach.
After that youth conference, I began to soul-win
almost every day and joined the bus ministry as
captain of Bus 5. As a fourteen year old young
man, I began to preach Christ and saw many
saved and baptized from my bus route. I have
averaged thirty to forty people every Sunday on
my bus route and had many special events
where I had over seventy people come.
I have been able to teach Sunday School
in our Junior Church department, preached in
teen boys and girls, have trained others to soul-
win and work on a bus route, have driven a van
route every Sunday for the night service, have
preached in many of our Friday nights teen
activity, have preached in some of our summer
camps, and been able to preach during youth
night and our annual youth conference at our
church. I have seen many saved and lives
changed.
After serving the Lord in the Bus Ministry
for over seven years, on May 4, 2012 during my
home church's Missions Conference-through the
singing and the great message on being in the
center of God’s will which was delivered from Dr.
Creed-the Lord called me to go to the Dominican
Republic. The Lord has given me such a strong
desire and passion to reach the Dominican
people with the gospel.
I have had a blast serving God in
Woodlawn Baptist Church, but how can I
stay, when my heart is in the Dominican
Republic?
I hope you would prayerfully
consider me.

My
name
is
Pamela
Polanco,
I
was
born
and
raised
in
the
Dominican
Republic.
In
my
family
we
never
had
any
religious
practice,
did
not
attend
any
church,
and
my
father
and
my
brothers were atheists.
When
I
was
12
my
parents
got
divorced
and
I
moved
with
my
mother
and
my
brothers
to
a
new
neighborhood.
Over
the
years,
I
met
a
neighbor
who
was
a
member
of
a
church.
She
used
to
invite
me
to
every
service
but
I
never
had
any
interest
in
attending
church.
One
night
in
December
2012,
I
decided
to
go.
My
first
impression
when
I
got
there
was
that
people
were
very
friendly
and
welcoming.
That
evening
during
the
church
service,
I
heard
the
gospel,
but
I
still
did
not
believe
that
it
was
true.
Well,
I
decided
to
continue
to
attend
the
church
because
I
loved
how
friendly
people
were.
Then,
after
attending
church
for
over
five
months
and
listening
to
the
gospel,
I
felt
God's
call
to
salvation.
I
was
scared
because
I
thought
it
couldn’t
be
true,
so
I
decided
not
to
return
to
the
church.
However,
the
seed
of
the
gospel
was
already
planted
in
my
heart
and
the
Holy
Spirit
was
convicting
me
of
my
sin.
So,
I
decided
to
return
once
again
to
Iglesia
Bautista
el
Faro
on
June
27,
2013,
and
I
could
no
longer
deny
the
existence
of
an
almighty
God,
or
the
death
of
Jesus
Christ
for
my
sins.
I
asked
Jesus
Christ
to
save
me
and
my
life
changed
drastically
after
this.
The
Lord
filled
me
with
peace,
love,
protection
and
he
has
given
me
a
fervent
desire
to
serve
and
be
an
instrument
for
in
any
way
possible.
Shortly
after
my
conversion,
God
gave
me
a
special
desire
to
serve
him
in
the
area
of
missions.
I
thought
to
myself,
if
someone
was
willing
to
give
up
everything
they
owned
and
possessed
in
America
to
come
down
to
my
country
to
tell
my
people
about
Jesus,
the
least
I
can
do
is
likewise.
Therefore,
the
passion
to
reach
the
unreached
and
to
tell
the
untold
was
planted in my heart.
I believe in the divine inspiration and authority of
the Scriptures. By this is meant a miraculous
guidance of the Holy Spirit in their original
writing, extending to all parts of the Scriptures
equally, applying even to the choice of words, so
that the result is the very Word of God, the only
infallible rule of faith and practice. Moreover, it is
my conviction that God has exercised such
singular care and providence through the ages in
preserving the written Word, that the Scriptures
as we now have them are in every essential
particular as originally given and contain all
things necessary to salvation.
• I believe that God has preserved His Word for
English speaking people in the King James Bible.
• I believe in one God revealed as eternally
existing in three equal persons, the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe in the deity of
the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe in the Holy Spirit
as a divine Person, a personality distinct from
the Father and the Son.
•I believe that God created an innumerable host
of angels, some of whom followed the lead of
Lucifer, now called Satan, in rebelling against
God, thereby bringing sin into the universe. I
believe in Satan's complete defeat by the Lord
Jesus Christ through His precious shed blood on
the cross and His glorious resurrection from the
grave.
I believe that man was created in the image of
God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not
only physical death but also that spiritual death
which is separation from God; and that all
human beings are born with a sinful nature and,
in the case of those who reach moral
responsibility, become sinners in thought, word
and deed. And with such a nature, they are
incapable of producing anything acceptable to
God.
• I believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the
Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is
true God and true man. I believe that He died for
the sins of men as representative and
substitutionary sacrifice and that His death was a
sufficient expiation for the guilt of all men. I
believe in the resurrection of the crucified body
of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven and in
His present life there for us as High Priest and
Advocate. I believe that Jesus is coming again to
gather His faithful followers into the place He
has pre-pared for them.
• I believe that men are justified by grace through
faith, on the ground of the Shed blood of Christ,
and that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as
Saviorare born again of the Holy Spirit. I believe
in the bodily resurrection of the just and the
unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved
and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
• I believe that it is the supreme responsibility of
believers to testify to the saving power of Christ's
gospel, both personally and by supporting
missions, at home and to the uttermost part of
the earth.
• I believe that it is the duty of each believer to
live a holy life unto God, keeping himself
unspotted from the world, and that it is God's
intention that this shall be accomplished in the
believer's life by his constant dependence on the
divine enablement of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
We believe that this experience of deliverance
from sin and empowerment for service is
designated in the Scriptures as the filling with
the Spirit rather than His baptism. Thus the
baptism with the Spirit is not an experience to be
sought subsequent to re-generation, but is
already an accomplished fact once born again.
• I believe that God in the Scriptures has
progressively revealed Himself through
successive ages, during each of which man has
been tested in respect of obedience to specific
revelation of the will of God; and we believe
further that this dispensational viewpoint
provides the key to the correct interpretation of
the plan and purpose of God in the world, past,
present and future, as it relates to the Church, to
Israel and to the nations. I believe in the actual
offering of a kingdom to the Jews by Christ at His
first coming, and His postponement thereof as a
result of the rejection by the nation of Israel. I
believe that Israel, as well as the Church and
nations, is included in the future aspect of God's
program.
• I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ:
Had its historical beginning at Pentecost; is
composed solely of believers; is the Body and
Bride of our Lord; is distinct from Israel; and that
it will be completed as the Gospel is made
known to the entire world.
The primary usage of the term "church" refers to
a local assembly of believers, congregating and
structured to carry out the Great Commission of
evangelism, baptism, and discipleship of
converts. The local church is led by a Pastor,
elected by its members. Requirements for
membership in the local church are professed
faith in Jesus Christ alone as Saviour, believer’s
baptism by emersion, and a life in pursuit of the
directives lay down in the New Testament.
• I believe that at any moment the Rapture of the
saved may occur, when "the Lord Himself shall
descend from heaven" to catch up His people to
meet Him "in the air" and deliver them from the
period of judgment on earth designated in
Scripture as the 70th Week of Daniel.
• I believe in the personal, bodily and pre-
millenial return of our Lord Jesus Christ after the
70th week of Daniel. He will then setup His
kingdom upon the earth for His thousand year
reign, after which He will de-liver the kingdom to
the Father, that the Godhead may be all in all.
There are big questions that haunt all of us. What
happens when I die? Where will I spend eternity?
The single most important question that you will
ever answer is this - “If I were to die today, would
I spend eternity in Heaven with God?” Your
relationship to Jesus Christ is central to the
answer to that question.
The Bible tells us in I John 5:13, “These things
have I written unto you that believe on the name
of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life...” The simple truth is God wants you
to know where you're going! So, here it is in a
nutshell:
·
First, you must understand your need for a
personal Saviour. The Bible is very clear that we
all have a huge problem called sin. Romans 3:23
says it this way, “For all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God.” This verse simply
means that none of us are perfect. Are you willing
to admit that?
·
The problem is this - sin has a high price
tag. Romans 6:23a says, “For the wages of sin is
death...” In other words, the price for sin is
eternal death apart from God in a place called
Hell - not a good thing! Because of our sin, none
of us can make it into Heaven alone.
·
Here's the good news - God sent help! The
rest of Romans 6:23 says, “...but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Again
in Romans 5:8 God says, “But God commendeth
His love toward us in that while we were yet
sinners Christ died for us!” This leads us to the
second step.
·
You must believe that Jesus Christ wants
to be your Saviour! Jesus Christ came to earth as
God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, and then
voluntarily died on a cross because He loves you.
On that cross, He literally paid for all of your sins.
He took your blame! He punished Himself for
your wrong-doings. What a great gift!
·
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.” God, in His awesome
love, came to earth to make a way for you to be
forgiven of your sins and given eternal life!
·
Finally, you must place your full trust in
Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Romans
10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved.” In verse ten of
that same chapter God says, “For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.” He
says it's as simple as believing and receiving! It's
as simple as asking!
If you've never asked Jesus Christ to be your
personal Saviour, you could do that right now!
With Him in your heart, life will make a lot more
sense. You could stop right now and sincerely
pray something like this:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are God, that You
died for my sin, and that You rose again from the
dead. I know that I am a sinner, and I ask You
now to be my personal Saviour. I'm placing my
full trust in You alone, and I now accept Your gift
of eternal life. Thank you for keeping Your
promise! Amen.
